Home About Us Program Elements The Women News and Events Resources Get Involved
Women exiting prison face tremendous challenges as they prepare to reenter the community. They must change old, destructive patterns of behavior and acquire new skills and attitudes in order to succeed. Our comprehensive life skills classes help residents develop skills in areas such as:
  • goal setting
  • relapse prevention
  • managing stress
  • health & nutrition
  • communication & conflict resolution
  • parenting
As the women learn these critical life skills, they also practice them in their daily interactions with program residents and staff, co-workers and employers, and at home with their families. Over time, these positive experiences help them gain confidence in their ability to manage overwhelming situations without resorting to old behaviors, improving their chances for successful community reentry.
